Tommy Castro by Nelson Onofre

Greetings Blues fans! This week I am submitting photos of Tommy Castro from his shows at Mexicali Live in New Jersey and the BB King Blues Club in New York. Both took place in November 2009. Tommy was sharing the bill with Coco Montoya and because I enjoyed the show in New Jersey so much I went to BB King's a few days later and caught them again.

I had never seen Tommy before these two shows but I thoroughly enjoyed his energetic, funky, bluesy sets. Two standouts for me were 'Nasty Habits' and 'Sex Machine' The band can lay down some serious grooves. Tommy has won the 2008 Blues Music Award for Entertainer Of The Year and none other than Carlos Santana said of Tommy, “The blues is in good hands."
I highly recommend catching Tommy if he hits your neck of the woods.

Until the next go-round, keep supporting the Blues. As you can see these cats are working hard to lay it down for you.
