NEW YORK BLUES: The Beat Goes On- Lil' Ed

Whew!...just got back from another night of electrifying blues here in The Big Apple. Terra Blues was jumpin' yet again! Bobby Radcliff and his guitar got the festivities going with two sets of crowd pleasing, down home tunes. After a short break guitarist Clarence Spady and his smokin' band proceeded to blow the roof off the joint with their mix of funky, jazzy, blues jams, powered by the mighty and majestic Hammond organ of Mark Hamza. This was my second time seeing these guys at Terra. You have to check these guys out if they play near you.

I have just posted some photos of Lil' Ed and The Blues Imperials. I caught them a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you, Lil' Ed and the band know how to have a good time onstage. Check out the look on Lil' Ed's face, there's a man who loves what he's doing. The Blues Imperials are a fun and rockin' band so check them out if they go to a spot near you.

I had previously thanked James of Terra Blues but I'd also like to take a minute to also thank manager Richard Lee for being gracious and kind enough to let me do my thing at Terra Blues. Also thanks to Chris at the door. Of course I can't say enough about the artists who have been kind enough to let me photograph them onstage! Thanks for the great music and for letting me capture the images. Until next time...

"Lil’ Ed Williams, although small in stature, is a true giant of the blues, and among the very last authentic West Side Chicago bluesmen. From smoking slide guitar boogies to raw-boned Chicago shuffles to the deepest slow blues, Lil’ Ed Williams is a master bluesman.
A gifted guitarist and a remarkably gritty and soulful vocalist, Williams, along with his blistering, road-tested band, The Blues Imperials, has been tearing up clubs and festival stages all over the world for almost 25 years."
