Greetings blues fans! This week I am submitting photos of my friends in the Harlem Blues Project. I first met these guys at Terra Blues and they're all regulars there. Barry Harrison, the drummer, spent some years with Shemekia Copeland's band. I caught them doing a set at BB King's Blues Club and not surprisingly they were great.
On Oct. 12th I'll be back at BB's to catch the Sonny Landreth/Indigenous show. I've seen Indigenous a few times before and Mato Nanji is some kind of guitar player. This will be my first time seeing Sonny Landreth and I'm looking forward to his set. Also on the calendar is Big Bill Morganfield at Terra Blues on Oct. 15th. For those that may not know Bill is the son of McKinley Morganfield, also known as Muddy Waters. Look for those photos somewhere down the line.
