Chicago Blues: Streaming Live Blues TV by Gatorman

Last Wednesday night I went to a jam session at Vaughan's . Vaughan's is located at 6638 South Ashland in Chicago. The session starts at 6pm and winds down at about 11pm. True to the blues biz it actually started at about 7pm. Cyrus Hayes and Lady Lee were the hosts and they are truly great artist's.  When you get there you have to be buzzed in. It is sort of a private club.  Some of the Chicago's southwest side blues players frequent this club. Claudette Miller (blues singer), Carlos Showers ( Big Time Sarah guitar man), Smilin Bobby (Wolf Records),  Lil' Daddy (Keys) and Smoke (Magic Slim's ex-bass man) to name a few. Lester, the owner, got up and pounded out a great funky "Mustang Sally" Lester is a pretty decent bass man and an entertaining front man.

I played a couple of gator tunes and little did I realize that the jam was streaming live on the net. Pretty Cool.

John Huber was the man behind the camera. He also has a full blown studio in Schneider, Indiana. Double cool.
Vaughan's streaming TV happens every Wednesday night at  www.justin.tv/thespotstudio  or visit John's Studio at www.thespotstudio.com   John also has a myspace page @ myspace.com/thespotstudio

Here is another great spot to learn about Chicago Blues  http://64.78.16.63/citytours/chicago/blues.html
Narrated by Buddy Guy and put out by the Chicago Tourism board. This link is jammed pack with info, so give it about two minutes to load. You'll be glad you did. Enjoy.
