International Blues Challenge by Nelson Onofre

What's up Blues fans! The International Blues Challenge (IBC) was held Jan. 20-23, 2010. Since I was not an attendee I have decided to post some photos of two previous winners, Eden Brent, who won it in 2006, and Diunna Greenleaf who won it in 2005. These are actually photos that I posted back in Sept. 2009 so for those of you that might have missed them here they are again. I saw Eden and Diunna at the Hudson River Park Blues BBQ which took place in New York back in August 2009.

The purpose of the IBC is to have Blues musicians from around the world compete for prizes, cash, and industry recognition. This was the 26th IBC so it has been going on for a long time now. The IBC is a pretty big deal because it's a showcase for Blues musicians who are looking to take their careers to the next level. Sometimes all a band needs is that little extra something to take them to the national stage and winning the IBC can go a long way towards achieving that.
